Escapade, the UK’s leading independent fancy dress company, wanted to raise awareness of its support for the Help For Heroes charity, the UK’s largest military charity. Escapade partnered with award-winning independent music festival Kendal Calling and taking inspiration from Escapade’s products and the heroic nature of the charitable cause, Guinness World Records created a record challenge for the Largest gathering of people dressed as Superman. The attempt gave participants the chance to be superheroes for a day while also generating charity donations. The attempt achieved tremendous media coverage reach of 453 million people, worth £150,000 AVE and reached over half a million on twitter in the UK/US alone!

Halls of Scotland

Hall’s of Scotland are proud producers of traditional Scottish food and have been filling the fridges of locals since 1932. Thirty years after they first earned a record title for the Largest haggis, the producer decided that with 2014 being the official year of the haggis, it was time to to reclaim it! The producer also wanted to create a sense of celebration and national pride across their loyal consumer base. The attempt took place at The Royal Highland Show, Scotland’s annual farming and countryside showcase and an important business platform. The record-breaking haggis became an attraction across the four day show for thousands of visitors. In addition, it also caught the attention of mainstream media including Sky News and ITV, as well as regional media such as Daily Record and Herald Scotland. Coverage reached over 400 million with a media value of £150,000!

Sue Ryder & Progressive Property

Rob Moore is a best-selling author, public speaker and multi-million pound property investor. Following a personal loss, Rob wanted to boost the fundraising efforts of Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice Capital Appeal aimed at raising £6 million to transform the hospice and boost the level of care provided. To do this, Rob embarked on a challenge for the Longest speech marathon where he spent three days providing seminars for entrepreneurs. By asking delegates to make a donation towards Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice rather than charging for attendance, he raised over £25,000.


Efteling is a fantasy-themed amusement park in the Netherlands featuring attractions based on ancient myths, fairy tales, fables, and folklore. 'Polles Keuken' is a special pancake restaurant at Efteling. Restaurant chefs were seeking a Guinness World Records challenge that would showcase their work, entertain guests and celebrate the autumn holiday season. The chefs successfully achieved a record title for the Tallest stack of pancakes on 16 October 2014. The pancake tower measured 91.2 cm (2 ft 11 in) and consisted of 242 pancakes! Attendees included visitors, employees, Omkoep Brabant - a regional TV station, and even Little Red Riding Hood!
