The smallest complete handmade chess set was made by M. Manikandan (India). The board measures 24 x 24 mm (0.94 x 0.94 in), the largest piece measures 10 mm (0.39 in) in height and the smallest measures 5 mm (0.2 in) in height. The chess set was made in Srivilliputtur, Tamil Nadu, India, and completed on 18 November 2006.
