The most basketball free throws in one minute is 67, and was achieved by Anthony Miracola (USA) in Temperance, Michigan, USA, on 5 April 2020 and was equalled by Bob J. Fisher (USA) in Centralia, Kansas, USA, on 5 July 2021.

While practicing at the gym each day, Bob realised that he could compete for the Guinness World Records title.

"Making free throws while alternating hands is difficult and requires much practice. The level of difficulty inspires and amazes virtually everyone."

During his training, Bob would shoot free throws for over an hour each day.

"Alternating hands training was difficult because learning to shoot left-handed was entirely new to me. It seemed to take forever because getting good was a very slow process. Probably because I am older and it takes longer to build myelin."

Bob is currently in training for his next attempt. "I am currently training to improve my ability to shoot blindfolded. I am making progress but it has been a slow process."

"Being a Guinness World Records title holder is awesome. It verifies that I have developed my abilities to a very high level of proficiency in an area of interest to me. Without Guinness World Records, there is no benchmark. Nothing to gauge how well I stack up against others in the venue of my choice. Developing the skill to doing something well is sublime. There is a deep satisfaction that comes with being a Guinness World Records title holder because it verifies excellence."
