The record for most generations of the same family to celebrate a diamond wedding anniversary (60th) is four by the descendants of William and Rose Hill (UK). In all there have been six diamond wedding celebrations within their family.

Generation #1: William Hill (1829-1924) married Rose Anne Boot (1833-1916) on 28 November 1853 at the Swanwick Baptist Chapel, Derbyshire, UK, and celebrated their diamond anniversary in 1913. 

Generation #2: i. Thomas Hill (1867-1953), son of the above, married Agnes Wilson (1868-1947) on 25 April 1886 at St.Mary’s Church, Sutton-in-Ashfield, UK and celebrated their diamond anniversary in 1946. 

 ii. George Whittaker (1891 - 1981), grandson of William and Rose Hill and son of Paulina Ann Hill (b. 3 May 1860) and George Whittaker (b. 1861) (m. 14 April 1880), married Ethel Keaton (d.1985) on 20 December 1919 at St Andrew's Church, Sharrow, South Yorkshire, UK, and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1979.

Generation #3: Thomas and Agnes Hill had eight children, two of which celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

i. Cyril  Bernard Hill (1897-1989) married Nellie Hall (1903-1993) on 31 July 1929 at the All Saints Church, Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, UK, and celebrated their diamond anniversary in 1989.

ii.Agnes Marjorie (1910-) married Francis Alfred Brooks (1910-1995) on 3 November 1934 at the All Saints Church, Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, UK, and celebrated their diamond anniversary in 1994.

Generation #4:i. Gwendoline Mary (b. 18 August 1920), granddaughter of Thomas and Agnes Hill, married Gordon Sugg (b.12 October 1919) on 28 February 1942 at St.Mary’s Church, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, UK, and celebrated their diamond anniversary in 2002.
