The fastest marathons by a married couple on the North and South Poles (aggregate) is 28 hr 18 min 2 sec, achieved by Catherine Sun (China) and Eric Xin (Hong Kong) who ran the Antarctic Ice Marathon together on 23 January 2017 and the North Pole Marathon on 15 April 2018.


For this record, husband and wife are required to run the same edition of the same race.

Eric Xin, the husband, finished the Antarctic in 5 hr 16 min 03 sec, while Catherine Sun completed the race in 7 hr 24 min 09 sec. The couple completed the North Pole together in a time of 15 hr 37 min 50 sec.
