There are two ways in which you can set or break a Guinness World Records record that are completely free of charge.
- By making an online free claim
- By visiting our Challengers site
1. Online Free Claim
For absolutely no cost at all, anyone can submit a claim to become a Guinness World Records Record Holder. This is a great free service if time is not an issue and you know which record you want to attempt.
All you need to do is submit a claim online before the attempt is made and if acceptable we will send you the official guidelines (all official documents and correspondence are in English only).
How does it work?
- You complete the online form
- A Record Manager will review the claim in 4-6 weeks
- The Record Manager will approve or reject the claim, then send you an email
- If approved the email will include the guidelines to your record and what evidence you need to gather so we can validate your attempt
- Once you have completed the attempt you send us the requested evidence
- The Record Manager will then review the evidence within 4-6 weeks and confirm whether you have become the new Guinness World Records Record Holder
- The Record Manager will then post a Standard Certificate to you within 10 working days following approval of record
2. Challengers Site
An ever increasing number of records can be attempted through our very popular Challengers site www.guinnessworldrecords.com/challengers
This is where you can upload a video of yourself attempting a record which is then reviewed by Guinness World Records. Record verification by submission of a video is only possible for the specific record categories shown.
We also use the Challengers site for our corporate licensed deals whereby companies run events, and upload the video evidence which we then approve or reject.
