Ryan Hart Smashes Guinness World records Title on Street Fighter V

17 February 2016, Guinness World Records™, the global authority on record-breaking achievement, confirms Ryan Hart has achieved the new Guinness World Records title ‘Most consecutive opponents fought in Street Fighter V’.

The Street Fighter champ, fought 260 opponents during an epic 11 hour record attempt and winning every match at GAME, intu Trafford Centre, Manchester yesterday.

Stephen Daultrey, Editor of the Guinness World Records ‘Gamer’s Edition’ said "A hearty congratulations to Ryan for bagging his latest Guinness World Record. Ryan is a bit of a gaming legend in Street Fighter circles, so it’s great to see his magic hasn’t worn off. Evidently, he’s just as fearless and dedicated to the new game as he was with all the previous series iterations."

Ryan Hart said “I'm thrilled to have set a new Guinness World Record for Street Fighter V, I feel it complements the longevity my gaming career has had and I'm really happy about that. Not being allowed to take any breaks whatsoever for 11 hours was really tough. There were times in the challenge where I just wanted it to be over but I tried to stay calm and think in small steps."

The record guidelines were stringent, Ryan had to beat over 250 players and achieve a win percentage of at least 90% for the record attempt to be successful. Each match was a best of three rounds with 99 seconds per round, no rest breaks and play had to be continuous.

Ryan Hart can now hang his new certificate among his other records including ‘Most international fighting videogame competition wins’ and ‘Longest winning streak on Street Fighter IV’.

Ryan Hart’s latest achievement will earn him the official title and a place in the new Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2017, out later this year.
