The incredible world of record breaking is set to come to life like never before with the 2012 Edition of the Guinness World Records book.
Out in shops and from online retailers on 13th September in the US and Canada and the rest of the world from September 15th, this year's book features Augmented Reality content for the first time.
By visiting www.guinnessworldrecords.com and with the use of a webcam, owners of the book will be able to see fascinating videos emerge from the pages.
Users will be directed to turn to a selected page, and asked to hold their book up in front of their computer. Using image recognition technology, the user will see a video of the record on the page rising out of the book itself on screen.
Along with the incredible AR content the book will feature 1,000s of new and classic records.
Get on your marks for the London Olympics, celebrate with record-breaking Royals and marvel at the International Space Station, with over 900 new eye-popping photographs, hundreds of bite-sized facts and a stunning 3D jacket design.
Stay tuned to guinnessworldrecords.com, where we'll have an exclusive preview of the new technology hidden within this year's book.
