This impressive and ambitious feat began on 13 March with the aim of positioning Irapuato as the strawberry capital of the world, this region is known for its excellent strawberry production. It was important to offer the local people the pride of being honored by a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title during the traditional strawberry fair.

Largest Jam Jar Mix

A team of approximately 70 people including chefs, teachers and food engineering students worked together to make a succulent jam capable of breaking a world record. The elaboration of this jam was carried out in optimal conditions and without any obstacles. However, as the jam mixture was being poured in the huge jar especially designed for this record attempt, the product began to spill through holes and leaks in the walls of the jar.

Guinness World Records' Official Adjudicator, Susana Reyes, did not arrange for the world title to be handed over during the first attempt because the requirements established by the record breaking authority were not met.
