General Mill’s employees gathered last week at their London office in record-breaking style to celebrate the culmination of 8 years work, delivering Old El Paso’s new Stand ‘n’ Stuff™ soft taco shells to market.

As their latest product hit the shelves of a leading UK supermarket chain, 21 staff from the global food giant took to the assembly line in a successful bid to break the Guinness World Records™ title for the longest line of tacos.

General Mills Incorporation, the company behind household brands including; Häagen-Dazs, Betty Crocker, Yoplait and Green Giant place strong emphasis on employee engagement and interaction across their various brand teams, which is the key motivation for their internal Race for Growth programme.

Their record attempt for the Old El Paso Race For Growth team provided an ideal opportunity for staff to celebrate their latest accomplishment with the added benefit of achieving a world record.

The exciting feat commenced at 12pm and just in time for lunch, a total of 1,567 tacos had been assembled, leading to the impressive achievement of a Guinness World Records record title for Longest line of tacos.

And if that wasn’t challenge enough, staff were then invited to take part in a Man vs. taco Stand ‘n’ Stuff Challenge where entrants were given four minutes to devour as many tacos as possible!

Speaking after the challenge Account Manager, Abigail Murrells explained, “Winning as a team' is one of our core company values and so this challenge provided a perfect opportunity for the Old El Paso Race for Growth team to do just that! Everyone enjoyed getting involved, rocking the Old El Paso aprons and of course the celebratory eating afterwards too!”
