Dubai Police concluded the second Dubai Fitness Challenge by setting a new record for the Heaviest boat pulled by a team of swimmers.

A team of 100 swimmers and divers pulled a boat weighing 355.07 metric tonnes (782,795.4 lb) over a distance of 200 m in Festival City, Dubai, on 24 November 2018.

The successful attempt came two days after the force’s women set a new record for the Heaviest aircraft pulled over 100 m by a team (female) when they pulled a 168.801-tonne (372,142 lb) plane.

Both record attempts were part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, an initiative started in 2017 with the purpose of transforming the city into the most active in the world. Challenges and events take place in different locations around the city over the course of a month.

Major General Abdullah Saeed Al-Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Mohammed Saeed Bakhit, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Community Welfare and Equipment and Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and a number of officers and individuals received the Guinness World Records certificate after the attempt.
