Largest MMs mosaic logo

Employees from confectionery company Mars, Incorporated have spent more than 17 hours building the world’s Largest M&M’s mosaic (logo) at Paradise Center shopping mall in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The delicious-looking logo was completed by a team of 27 and measured an enormous 49.59 m² (533.78 sq ft) and comprised approximately 291,490 M&M's.

The record total is for the M&M's logo in the centre and does not include the yellow background. However, the whole image weighed around 1,000 kg.

The number of M&M's used would have filled a staggering 22,222 individual 45 g packs, and included 600 kg of yellow M&M's, 200 kg brown and 100 kg of white, green and red.

It took the team 17 hr 30 min to individually place each of the sugar-coated chocolates.

All of the sweets used for the attempt had expired, to ensure there was no food wastage (although we expect the volunteers and guests were a little disappointed that they didn’t get to taste the record-breaking image!).

Adjudicator Paulina presents certificate for largest MMs mosaic

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Paulina Sapinska (pictured above) was on hand to count the sweets and verify the record.

Mars organised the attempt as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the M&M’s brand in Bulgaria.
