To celebrate Innovation Week in the UAE, the Public Works and Services Department of Government of Ras al Khaimah held a big celebration for the local public, during which they revealed a record-breaking artwork.
A story of the region's historical events was depicted in the world’s Largest glow in the dark painting.
Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Samer Khallouf verified that the fluorescent picture measured an impressive 416.26 m² (4,480.58 ft²) – more than double the size of the previous record, set by Nissan last year.
Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director General of PWSD commented on the achievement: “As part of our commitment to the directives of our leaders, and under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, we are delighted to participate alongside other Ras Al Khaimah government institutions in UAE Innovation Week. This event at Saqr Park will be a celebration of the state-of-the-art developments that PWSD has implemented throughout the year, with the objective of establishing a culture of innovation at the heart of everything we do, and will serve to honour the pioneering efforts of our innovation team.”
There was a festive atmosphere at the event and a small fireworks display was set off after the new record was announced.
