Helping put Singapore on the records map, Japanese eyelash brand Dolly Wink has successfully set a new world record title for the most people applying false eyelashes simultaneously.
This record-setting success, organized in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation, saw 324 participants putting on Dolly Wink false eyelashes at The Ground Theatre @ SCAPE in Singapore, Singapore.
"We are ecstatic that the record-setting is a huge success, and would like to thank everyone who has made it possible," said Leah Lim, Marketing Manager of Mandom Corp Ptd Ltd, which distributes Dolly Wink in Singapore.
Among the participants were celebrities such as George Young, Oon Shu An, and Hayley Woo, as well as blogger extraordinaire Wendy Cheng, more popularly known as "Xiaxue." Beauty bloggers Evonne Ng ("evonnz"), Rachell Tan ("pxdkitty"), and Miyake ("ngmiyake") also joined, as did various gyaru personalities and a small group of breast cancer survivors.
"This is a great platform to reach out to these young ladies," said Noor Quek, president of Breast Cancer Foundation. "We thank Dolly Wink for helping us raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage a healthy lifestyle."
Hosted by well-known radio DJ Rosalyn Lee, this groundbreaking event sought to raise funds and awareness for the early detection of breast cancer, one of the most common cancers afflicting women worldwide.
All participants received a lash kit set worth over $100, which included a set of false eyelashes and glue, an eyelash case, black liquid eyeliner, mascara, eyelash curler, and a pair of scissors.
"Dolly Wink is thrilled to be part of this landmark success. This is the brand’s fifth anniversary in Singapore, and we wanted to celebrate it by giving back to society in a positive, creative, and meaningful way," Lim added.
"This has given us an avenue to support the Breast Cancer Foundation and drive home the brand’s message that all women, regardless of age and circumstance, can look and feel beautiful."
