General Electric and EDF started operating the world’s Most efficient combined cycle power plant last month and made history as the plant in Bouchain, France was confirmed as achieving a record-setting 62.22% efficiency.
 
The record was verified by experts Bureau Veritas and the efficiency figure signifies the amount of energy extracted from the total combustive energy contained in the fuel.
 
The power plant comprises of a General Electric 9HA.01 gas turbine, D650 steam turbine and W86 generator working in tandem.
