The attempt was organised by yoga organisation Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust, with the support of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, and over 100,000 people were in attendance.

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Rishi Nath was on hand to verify the record and ensure that all the rules were followed.

For this challenging record, the body has to remain straight throughout (with no bending at the knees or waist) and must be lowered until at least a 90-degree angle is attained at the elbow, before being raised again until the arms are straight.
