The UK's Domestic & General took to Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey on 24 June with two goals in mind: implement a new, company-wide growth plan, and make some history. Consider them 2-for-2.

Of all the commercial staff present, a team of 100 achieved a new Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to pass 10 t-shirts along a chain of people. The record stipulated a team of 100 and they completed the challenge in a speedy 15 min 0.69 sec.

The record was attempted during a one-day conference which brought together about 200 of the commercial staff at Domestic & General.

Nicki Perry – Domestic & General HR manager and participant in the record attempt – said: “Setting a Guinness World Records title was a fantastic achievement for us. We are always looking for new ways to strengthen our teams and this was a fun way to put our name in lights. ...We are proud to say we are ‘Officially Amazing.’”

Organisers of the day considered the record attempt to be the perfect way to engage and rekindle staff’s enthusiasm in the company whilst they introduce a new growth plan that the group is set to embark upon.

"It turned out to be the best part of the day," said internal communications advisor Natalie Paffey. "I’ve had so much positive feedback from everyone."
