NBA records - Most consecutive triple-doubles for an NBA player by Russel Westbrook and Most consecutive unassisted NBA points scored by an individual by James Harden
To celebrate NBA All-Star Weekend 2019, we’ve picked out some highlights from an incredible NBA season of record breaking so far.

With long range shooting becoming increasingly important in the modern NBA, several three-point records have been shattered already this season!

Spearheading the three-point revolution are the Golden State Warriors’ sharp-shooting duo of Klay Thompson and Steph Curry (both USA). The latter had previously held the record for Most three-point field goals by an individual  in an NBA game before fellow ‘Splash Bro’ Klay Thompson surpassed his total with 14 during an October victory against the Chicago Bulls.

Soon after, Thompson hit his first 10 three-pointers in a win for Golden State against the Los Angeles Lakers, earning his second Guinness World Records title of the season for Most consecutive three-point field goals converted by an individual to start an NBA game.
Despite Klay Thompson’s long-range form for Golden State this season, it was the Houston Rockets who achieved the record for Most three-point field goals converted by an NBA team in December, hitting 26 to surpass the previous record of 25 held by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Warriors were, however, involved in one of the games of the season when they combined with the New Orleans Pelicans for 43 three-pointers, setting the record for Most three-point field goals made in an NBA game by both teams (regular season).
Away from the three-ball, NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki (Germany) of the Dallas Mavericks achieved the record for Most seasons at the same NBA team by a player (21) to accompany his previous Guinness World Records title for First European player named "most valuable player" in an NBA regular season.

Reigning ‘MVP’ James Harden (USA) also scored a phenomenal 304 unassisted points over seven games in January to earn the record for Most consecutive unassisted NBA points scored by an individual. The following month, 2017 ‘MVP’ Russel Westbrook (USA) achieved the unthinkable and surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s (USA) record for Most consecutive triple-doubles for an NBA player which has stood since 1968!

Mavs rookie Luka Dončić (Slovenia) has exceeded all expectations so far this season, with his fine form reflected in Guinness World Records titles for Most NBA triple-doubles recorded by a teenager and Youngest NBA player to score a 30-point triple-double during a January match-up with the Toronto Raptors.

While off the court, multiple record-holders Gregg Popovic and Steve Kerr (both USA) added Most road wins for an NBA coach (521) and Fewest games for a coach to win 300 NBA matches (377) to their record hauls respectively.

Finally, during All-Star Weekend itself, LeBron James (USA) will tie the record for Most NBA All-Star Game starts as he matches Kobe Bryant’s (USA) tally of 15. Dončić also stands a good chance of being named Youngest winner of the NBA All-Star Skills Challenge; while Eastern Conference captain Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece) is expected to put on a show and challenge Anthony Davis’ (USA) record for Most points scored in an All-Star Game by an NBA player (52).
