Snoop Dogg’s hit song Gin and Juice has inspired a record attempt after the hip hop star helped create the world’s Largest paradise cocktail.

TV chef Michael Voltaggio, winner of Bravo's Top Chef, invited Snoop, rapper Warren G, Kim Kaechele and Kendall Coleman to help make it.

The massive mixed drink was unveiled live on stage at the BottleRock Napa Valley Music Festival in California, USA.

Containing 180 1.75-litre bottles of gin, 156 1-litre bottles of apricot brandy and 28 3.78-litre jugs of orange juice, the paradise cocktail was made to accompany Voltaggio's Jamaican jerk chicken dish at the festival, which pairs musicians with chefs on their culinary stage.

As this is the first time a Guinness World Records title has ever been attempted in the five year history of the festival, crowds gathered to see official adjudicator Philip Robertson confirm the creation as a new achievement.

Snoop Dogg and Warren G assisted with garnishing the colossal cocktail, which came complete with a drinking straw, pink parasol, a garnish of pineapple - and a whole melon on a sword.

The idea for this headline-grabbing record attempt was generated in efforts to create a memorable event for festival goers. In previous years line-ups have included performances from Bruno Mars, Billy Idol, The Killers, alongside world renowned chefs.

Although the 8,000-strong crowd pleaded to taste the cocktail, it was reserved for the VIP section where it was distributed to fortunate backstage revellers.
