Easter weekend is nearly here, and as the most important celebration of the Christian calendar, many are lining up to gather with family, hunt for Easter eggs, and devour chocolate bunnies.

Most expensive non-jewelled chocolate egg 

Named the “Golden speckled egg” this insanely expensive treat was made with Amedei Chocolate and edible Gold leaf and filled with couture chocolate and truffles. The pricey egg was also decorated with 12 smaller chocolate eggs, 20 mini chocolate bars and 5 white flowers, and took over three days to make. It was so large, it totaled to a massive 50 kg (110.23 lbs) and was approximately 107 cm (3 ft 6.13 in) tall and 54 cm (1 ft 9.26 in) wide. The great “Golden speckled egg” was sold for £7,000 ($11,107) in aid of The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt as part of World Record London.

Most rabbits pulled out of a magician's hat

Which one is the real Easter bunny?! It's hard to tell with this record. The most rabbits pulled out of a magician's hat is 300 and was achieved by Walter Rolfo and Piero Ustignani, aka Jabba, (both Italy) during the Magic Congress in Saint-Vincent, Aosta, Italy on 17 May 2008.

The world’s largest Easter egg hunt consisted of 501,000 eggs that were searched for by 9,753 children accompanied by their parents at the Cypress Gardens Adventure Park in Winter Haven, Florida, USA, in 2007.

Take a look at this model bunny! Darius, a Flemish giant rabbit owned by Annette Edwards (UK), who was found to be 4 ft 3 in (129 cm) long when measured for an article in the UK's Daily Mail newspaper on 6 April 2010, making him the largest rabbit.

A common activity in the US is dyeing Easter eggs several vibrant colours. This egg certainly makes a statement with is colourful yellow hue! The largest decorated Easter egg, built by Freeport in Alcochete, Portugal was 14.79 m (48 ft 6 in) long and 8.40 m (27 ft 6 in) in diameter when measured on 8 March 2008.

Franchesca the rabbit might just be one of the fluffiest rabbit's we've ever seen. She currently holds the record for longest fur on a rabbit at 36.5 cm (14.37 in) and belongs to owner by Betty Chu (USA), as measured in Morgan Hill, California, USA, on 17 August 2014.

Largest rabbit made of chocolate

Many are gifted chocolate rabbits for Easter, but this gigantic bunny outdoes all the rest! The largest rabbit made of chocolate weighed 4,245.5 kg (9,359.7 lbs) and was achieved by Equipe da Casa do Chocolate at Shopping Uberaba, in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on February 25, 2017. The Casa do Chocolate team had 9 professionals, working for 8 consecutive days on the chocolate rabbit sculpture. It measured an incredible 4,52 m high, 2,11 wide and 1,76 m long.

Largest Easter egg tree

Check out this recent record, consisting of 82,404 painted hen eggs. It was achieved by Associação Visite Pomerode (Brazil), at the 9º Osterfest, in Pomerode, Santa Catarina, Brazil who began collecting egg shells in April 2016 and painted all them throughout the year with orange, yellow and green colours.
 
Largest bunny hop 

In 2007, community leaders in Delta, Ohio organised the largest bunny hop in honour of Delta High School, whose mascot is the rabbit. A record 3,841 participants formed one continuous line and hopped like rabbits for a full five minutes to ensure they earned they’re place in the history books.

For this Easter-themed record, a community came together to achieve the most people dyeing Easter eggs for the holiday. In total, they managed to set the record with 582 participants in Redmond, Washington, USA, on 19 April 2014.
