Largest greetings card mosaic world record

Multinational consumer goods manufacturer Proctor & Gamble (P&G) and Transmed created the world’s Longest greetings card mosaic as part of their ‘Thank you Mom, for Raising a Champion’ campaign which was organised to celebrate athletes in the 2016 Olympic Games.

The huge montage of cards measured an incredible 110.13 metres long, easily breaking the previous record of 66.48 metres (218 ft 1 in).

With the attempt organised in partnership with Majid Al Futtaim-Carrefour, people from the UAE who went to the hypermarkets were invited to write digital thank you letters to their mothers which were then transferred to greetings cards for the mosaic.

Over a period of ten days, shoppers wrote thousands of personal ‘thank you’ notes to their moms.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Leila Issa ensured that all of the record guidelines were followed, including making sure that there were no significant gaps in the mosaic.

The impressive greetings cards can now been seen displayed on a giant billboard near the Jebel Ali Metro Station.

Khaled Adawi, Director for Procter & Gamble in the Arabian Peninsula, said: "Moms are the ones who keep on supporting families through everything. Many of our brands are part of that journey that moms take to raise their children every single day. For moms, their children always come first. We wanted to give our consumers a way to give something back, and say ‘Thank You’ to their moms for the role they’ve played in raising strong children."

Talal Omar, MENA country manager at Guinness World Records, commented: "The UAE's consumers put together the longest greeting card mosaic globally, bringing yet another world record to the United Arab Emirates. We would like to extend our congratulations to them."
