Each week here on guinnessworldrecords.com, we’ll be dipping into our extensive video library to bring you a classic piece of record-breaking action.

This week’s Classics clip is from the set of Italy’s Lo Show Dei Record in April 2009, where Ricardo Piedras broke the record for Longest jump with a back flip performed on a minimoto with a 12.72-m (41-ft 9-in) backward somersault.

The Spaniard put a foot down after a clear landing on the ramp in order to stop, due to space limits. However, as the actually landing was executed on the minibike wheels, the attempt was validated and Ricardo was awarded the title.

The daredevil has since broken his own record with a breath-taking 14.74 m (48 ft 4.31 in) jump with a backflip in Barcelona, Spain, on 9 October 2012.
