Personal gaming sure has come a long way since the days of Pong on CRT televisions or making sure your TV was on channel 3 to operate your console.

Powered by graphics processing unit (GPU) company NVIDIA, the group debuted the largest 4k screen in a videogame competition at world-famous horse racing track Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Final measurement: 1,414.36 m² (15,224 ft²).

Gamers Justin Munoz and Tom Lounsbury were flown in to battle it out in a competition playing Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Up for grabs between the dueling players was a new 4K gaming system for the winner, featuring the GeForce GTX 980, NVIDIA's most advanced GPU.

The screen clocked in at a crisp 4096 x 2160 resolution on the display that measured 171 feet wide by 90 feet tall, meaning that the game's GPU was taxed into overdrive to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.

It sure looked like a lot of work. But it all seemed worth it to allow NVIDIA to hang its hat on the raw display on processing power put on successfully by its GPU capability.
