Lee De Villiers and Simon Clark of the UK sure know a thing or two about outlasting the competition. First, they broke the record for the longest barbecue marathon by a team, at 29 hr 1 min. Then, they used that record to earn the most votes in our polling window over the other four competitors in last week's Fan Choice.

Lee and Simon had angled for a record since childhood, and now will be entered into our competition for fan record of the year.

Every Friday here, we pick five records recently approved by our expert Records Management Team. We'll give you a little background on each and then ask you to vote for your favorite. The winners from each week, like Lee and Simon of The Old Sergeant Pub, will be entered into an end-of-year bracket to determine the Fan Choice record of the year.

This week's list of nominees vying for your vote includes the oldest female hockey player and largest cork mosaic, but first, pull!
