Thousans of origami boats helped Wide Animation Studios of India sail to victory in last week's Fan Choice.

The group claimed 64.12% of votes for its largest display of origamiboats, distancing itself from its closest competitor, at 22.57%. Congratulations to Wide Animation Studios!

Every Friday here, we'll pick five records recently approved by our expert Records Management Team. We'll give you a little background on each and then ask you to vote for your favorite. The winners from each week, like the origami boat display, will be entered into an end-of-year bracket to determine the Fan Choice record of the year.

This week features mittens knitted for a giant and a rope-skipping dynamo. But first, let's hit the Crocodile Mile!

LONGEST DISTANCE TRAVELLED ON A SLIP AND SLIDE IN ONE HOUR (pictured above)

Record: 31,592.58 m (103,650 ft)

Holder: Students of Boise State University (USA)

Location: Boise, Idaho, USA

That's not all: The attempt capped off the Boise State Student Involvement and Leadership Center's Bronco Welcome Week, an annual school opener in which BSU welcomes new and returning students to campus. The group says it had a healthy competitive desire to beat the previous record, held by the University of Oregon.

LARGEST WINE FLUTE

Fan Choice wine flute story.jpg

Record: 100.5 litres (22.10 UK gal, 26.54 US gal)

Holder: Madelustre and Centro Empresarial e Cultural de Garibaldi

Location: Câmara de Indústria e Comércio de Garibaldi, Brazil

That's not all: It took a few tries before this tandem of groups was able to create a glass that could hold such an amount of sparkling wine. Madelustre brought great experience to the attempt; the company has built high-quality chandeliers for more than 30 years. Three architects designed the glass, which was then donated to the Garibaldi Business and Cultural center.

MOST ROPE CROSSOVERS WHILE SKIPPING BACKWARDS IN ONE MINUTE

Fan Choice crossovers story.jpg

Record: 97

Holder: Hijiki Ikuyama (Japan)

Location: Gunma Sports Complex, in Maebashi, Gunma, Japan

That's not all: For those of us who take great pride in being able to do even one crossover rope jump, Hijiki puts us in our place. In addition to this record, he also holds Guinness World Records titles for the most backwards crossover skips in 30 seconds, most backwards skips in 30 seconds, and most backwards skips in one minute.

TALLEST SUGAR CUBE TOWER

Fan Choice sugar cube story.jpg

Record: 2.08 m (6 ft 10 in)

Holder: Camille Courgeon (France)

Location: Blanquefort, France

That's not all: Imagine a Kevin Durant made entirely of sugar. That's essentially what Camille built with this nearly 7-foot-tall horse's dream. The completed tower used 2,669 individual cubes and was completed in 2 hours 59 minutes by the teenaged Camille.

LARGEST PAIR OF KNITTED MITTENS

Fan Choice mittens story.jpg

Record: A mean of 2.37 m (7 ft 9.31 in) long by 97.5 cm (3 ft 2.39 in) wide

Holder: Selbu Bygdemuseum (Norway)

Location: Selbu, Norway

That's not all: Since the mittens were hand-knitted, their dimensions vary slightly: the left mitten measured 2.37 m long (7 ft 9.31 in) by 1 m (3 ft 3.37 in) wide, while the right mitten came in at 2.38 m (7 ft 9.7) long by 94.8 cm (3 ft 1.32 in) wide. A collaboration of 45 women, many of them senior citizens, worked together to construct the record-breaking handwarmers.
