"The Wolf of Wall Street" may not have taken home any Academy Awards on Sunday, but the Martin Scorcese-directed Leonardo DiCaprio vehicle did inspire one award at the Oscars: a new Guinness World Records certificate.

As part of its "Countdown to the Red Carpet" Oscars coverage, U.S. television network E! coordinated a successful attempt at breaking the record for most heads shaved in one hour. The master barber was Julian Payne (above second from L), owner and founder of The Original Mobile Barbershop Co. TV personality Ross Matthews oversaw the attempt for E! in front of Guinness World Records adjudicator Philip Robertson.

Included among the 72 shedders were two women who started the day with shoulder-length hair. With completely buzzed heads required, brooms were in high demand after the attempt.

Check out the final record-breaking shave at E!'s website. For the Wolf scene that inspired the whole attempt, well, this is a family site, so we can't share that!

Payne and E! broke the previous record of 60, achieved by John McGuire (Ireland) for Today FM at Marconi House in Dublin on Feb. 18, 2010.
