MTV held its annual Video Music Awards on Sunday and, as is tradition in a ceremony starkly different from its more traditional forebearers like the Grammys, Brits, or American Music Awards, delivered plenty of memorable moments. These ranged from the oh-so-brief *NSYNC reunion that we predicted would still go on to Miley Cyrus doing...well whatever it is she did.

Yet despite a great night all around, nobody came close to touching Peter Gabriel's record for most wins at a single VMA, when he took home 10 total in 1987 - nine for the video "Sledgehammer" plus the Video Vanguard Award.

From artists in the studio to artists on the court, today kicks off the US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. And be glad you weren't on clean-up duty for the largest dog walk and its 22,742 dogs at the Great North Dog Walk organized by Anthony Carlisle (UK) on June 12, 2011.

Lastly, we hope her bouquet wasn't filled entirely with water-squirting flowers. A Pennsylvania couple recently married in full clown regalia at the 2013 Clownfest. We're sure the folks at Clowns International are happy for the duo: they're the organization who organized the largest gathering of clowns way back in 1991 with 850 at Bognor Regis, UK.
