Daft Punk's new single 'Get Lucky' has become the most streamed song in a 24-hour period in the UK and US on music streaming service Spotify.

The one-day streaming record in the UK previously belonged to Bastille's hit single 'Pompeii'. In the US the record was held by Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop'.

The song is the first track to be taken from the French duo's new album 'Random Access Memories' and features Pharrell Williams on vocals along with disco pioneer Nile Rogers.

The largest mirrored disco ball measures 9.98 m (32 ft 9 in) in diameter, and was made by BSG Luxury Group for Bacardi Russia. The ball was displayed at the 'Casa Bacardi, Larger Than Life' party in Moscow, Russia, on 26 April 2012.

Liverpool soccer star Luis Suarez has apologised for his "inexcusable behaviour" after biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The shocking incident occurred in the second half of Liverpool's 2-2 Premier League draw against Chelsea at Anfield on Sunday.

"I've spoken to Ivanovic on the phone and I could apologise directly to him," the striker tweeted. "Thanks for accepting."

The world’s strongest human bite record belongs to Richard Hofmann from Florida, USA.

In August 1986 Richard achieved a bite strength of 442 kg (975 lb) for around two seconds in a research test using a gnathodynamometer at the College of Dentistry, University of Florida. This is more than six times the normal human biting strength and is due to his unusually powerful masseter muscles.

A British designer has unveiled a giant-mantis robot after 18-months in development.

Its creator Matt Denton, who estimates his robotic spider creation has cost him hundreds of thousands of pounds, says the project has attracted interest from a mining company and a marine research organisation.

The longest walk by a passive walking robot is 16.3 km (10.13 miles) and was achieved by a robot designed and built by Walking robot research team at Future University Hakodate (Japan) in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, from 13 to 17 September 2011. The robot made over 900,000 steps during its 100 hour treadmill stroll.

Hay fever suffers in the UK look set to face months of misery with experts suggesting the pollen count will be the highest in 50 years.

Professor Roy Kennedy, one of Britain's leading hay fever experts, said the period till June would cross the highest levels of pollen in last five decades, adding that Scotland will have the highest levels of pollen counts, even more than the highest levels expected in England.

The longest sneezing fit ever recorded is that of Donna Griffiths (UK) (b. 1969) who started sneezing on 13 January 1981. She sneezed an estimated million times in the first 365 days and achieved her first sneeze-free day on 16 September 16 1983—the 978th day.
