Hey there world record fans, welcome to the first in a regular series, looking at the latest happenings on our Challengers website.

Challengers is our free and fast online record-breaking platform, where anyone can make a world record attempt at home, and share their video of it with the world, potentially even earning themselves an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate!

Find out more about Challengers, and learn how to use the site HERE.

So, what's happened on Challengers in the past four weeks? Let's take a look...

New records awarded

Over 20 world records have been awarded on Challengers in the last month, for attempts ranging from the Most marshmallows eaten in one minute to the Fastest 100m sprint on Kinect sports on Xbox 360. Here are a few of the highlights:

Fastest time to type the alphabet on an iPad

Chase Samuel shaved a few hundredths of a second off the previous mark, setting a new record by typing the entire alphabet (with only one hand, no less) 3.14 seconds!

Most sticky notes stuck on the face in one minute

Silvio Sabba (we'll get to know him better in a minute) added to his large collection of records, successfully sticking 52 sticky notes to his face.

Highest score on WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii)

Thailand's Thanapat Voraphaphun braved the super-hard difficulty setting and managed to survive for a whopping 106 minigames!

User of the month

Each month, we'll take a look at one of our record-holding Challengers users, finding out what records they hold, and why they like to break world records on the site.

First up, we could only have our most successful Challengers user, Italian Silvio Sabba, who currently holds 39 world records! These range from domino and dice stacking, or building a three-level house of cards in the fastest time, to a balance baord endurance record of 2 hours 36 minutes and 26 seconds!

Silvio, a personal trainer by day, says: " My favorite records are about sports and stacking objects - I would like to beat Ashrita Furman [holder of the most GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles], but I think it will take me 4/5 years to catch up with him. I find Challengers very addictive, I practise for at least two hours every day before and after work. You need to put more records in the aquarium, because I am a hungry piranha!"

New challenges added

We regularly add new world records to Challengers, to ensure there is always something fresh and exciting for you to make an attempt at - and often this is the result of a user suggestion. Recently-added challenges include:

Most star jumps in one minute

If you're a fitness fanatic, perhaps you could beat the current record of 70 star jumps, set by Tim Kurokawa of Japan?

Most pencils stacked in one minute

You'll need a very steady hand to reach the minimum requirement of 15 pencils stacked horizontally, edge-on-edge.

Highest score, Wii Resort wakeboarding

Finally, one for the gamer's out there - can you perform enough tricks to beat the 3253 points minimum requirement?
