It's no secret that we here at Guinness World Records receive a lot of record applications - about 1,000 per week, in fact.
And it's also no secret that breaking a record is difficult - only around 3 percent of all record applications result in success.
Still, each week our Records Management Team verifies and awards official record titles to many claims from around the globe and we would like to now share some of these with you, the fans.
It is with that idea in mind that we introduce our newest weekly feature, the Fan Choice Record of the Week. Here's how it will work:
- Each Friday, come right back here to GuinnessWorldRecords.com, where we'll present five of the most unique and varied records authenticated in the past week. Expect to see all types of achievements from all around the globe.
- After learning about the newest verified records, head to our Facebook page to vote in our weekly poll, leave your choice in the comment section below, or tweet your choice to us on Twitter ( @GWR) with the hashtag #GWRFanChoice.
- We'll tally up all the votes over the course of the week and announce each Friday which record the fans have chosen as their favorite.
Remember, this is entirely meant to showcase your choice for favorite superlative achievement, for whatever reason that may be. The power is completely yours!
Now that you're all caught up, here are our nominees for the week ending March 22.
