The Guinness World Record for longest marble run was broken by engineering students of Wenatchee High School in Wenatchee, Washington, USA in April 2012.

The record is for the longest track on which a marble can run from one end to the other unassisted. If the marble becomes stuck or leaves the run, the attempt is not valid.

After a full month of construction, the students' track measured 523.32 m (1,716 ft 11 in), and was built with paper and cardboard.

The previous record for longest marble run, set by Cordes & Graefe KG in Germany in 2011, was 394.19 m (1,293 ft 3 in).

While there were two invalid attempts and two hours' worth of track fixing during the event, the students eventually were able to make the marble run the entire track without assistance.
