Each player taking part in the attempt played for a minimum of 10 minutes with some getting the chance to show off their skills against BBC presenters, celebrities and former football pros.

Alongside local players, people travelled from far and wide including Fife, Gloucestershire and Dublin to take part in the attempt and help break the previous record, which stood at 441.

Speaking at the end of the event, Robbie said: "It's brilliant to be a Guinness World Records breaker; it's fantastic for all concerned and a great achievement for 5 live."

The attempt, which took place at League One side Sheffield United's academy, began at 2pm last Friday and finished at 1pm on Saturday and helped to raise money for BBC charity Children In Need.
