The largest digital photo exhibition was unveiled this month in Mexico City, Mexico.

Consisting of 115,117 individual photographs, the exhibition was collected by Herdez of Grupo Herdez with the help of families across Mexico at the Monumento a la Revolución.

Herdez collected the photos for just over 3 months with the theme of 'family', as they wanted Mexican families to participate (forming one big Mexican family). The photos were stored digitally where they were counted with any duplicates or unsuitable photos discounted.

The exhibition itself took place at the Monumento a la Revolución, one of the main landmarks in Mexico City. All the photos passed through screens for the public to see, and the event included a video presentation on a huge LED screen, showcasing the best photos.

"This is a very important record that sends a positive message of family," said Ralph Hannah, representative for Guinness World Records Latin America. "Individually it is just the simple act of taking a photo but when you combine this on a large scale it has the power to be something really special."

The day of the exhibition included a free concert by Vazquez Sounds, pre-teen siblings made famous by their YouTube cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep.
