Mark your diaries - it's almost that time of year again! GWR Day, a global celebration of all things superlative this year takes place on November 15.

The annual event, which commemorates the day in 2004 when Guinness World Records became the world's bestselling copyright book, sees thousands of people all over the world attempt to secure a prestigious world records title during a 24 hour period.

Any records set on Guinness World Records day are short-listed for inclusion in next year's edition of the book and you too can be part of the global celebration.

The Largest Hula Hoop workout consisted of 221 students from Longleaf Elementary School (USA) in New Port Richey, Florida.

The largest 3D painting measured 1160.45m² and was created by Joe Hill of 3D Joe and Max, in partnership with Reebok Crossfit, at West India Quay in London, UK. The measurement of the painting was taken by Ardent Management.

The largest human star consisted of 326 participants, and was achieved by Rachel Kingstone and Make-A-Wish® Canada, in Toronto, Canada.
