On a night that saw the likes of Adam Lambert, Nirvana and Bjork honoured, Monday's MTV O Music Awards also saw a new Guinness World Record title being handed out.

Ahead of the ceremony, a group of thirteen seemingly tireless dancers took to the floor at the Roxy in Hollywood, Los Angeles and proceeded to groove their way to record for the Longest Team Dance Marathon after throwing shapes for 24 hours.

The dancers, who under the record guidelines were each only allowed a minimal five-minute break per hour, kicked off their attempt on Halloween Eve with musical assistance from DJ Diamond Kuts.

Mission was accomplished Monday night as the team reached the 24 hour mark while dancing to a live performance from Swedish singer Robyn.

The dancers celebrated by doing a bit more dancing, this time to MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This," only pausing briefly to receive their official Guinness World Record certificate.

The attempt was organised to raise awareness for National Bullying Prevention Month with $30,000 raised for a number of anti-bullying campaigns from groups including GLAAD, GLSEN, GSA Network, HRC and the It Gets Better Project and Trevor Project.

The dance record was just one of the highlights of the Awards which celebrate the best in online music are now in the second year. Alongside Robyn, this year's show also saw performances from The Flaming Lips, Mac Miller, and the Alabama Shakes, as well as special appearances by Kelly Clarkson, Tyler, the Creator, and Demi Lovato.
