The fastest time to scan and bag 50 shopping items is 2 minutes and 22 seconds and was achieved by Ange Couch (UK) on the set of Guinness World Records Smashed, at the Tesco store in Bracknell, UK, on March 22, 2009. Ange was competing against three others, all of whom had to be disqualified, because they either scanned items twice or failed to scan an item.

Fastest person with a pricing gun - 1 minute
The record for the most books priced in one minute is 29, and was achieved by Mari Mohede Berg (Sweden) at the Nordstan Shopping Mall, Gothenburg, Sweden on November 24, 2007.

Hilary Wymer (UK) wrapped a Guinness World Record book in 19.71 seconds at the Borders book shop in Manchester Fort Shopping Park, Manchester, UK on November 9, 2005.

A team of 12 staff members from the company EDEKA Südbayern (all Germany), took turns to push a shopping trolley for 24 hours around a 434 m long track in the Forum Building of the Munich Airport (Germany) covering an overall distance of 183 miles on July 23, 2005.

Suresh Joachim Arulanantham (Sri Lanka), travelled a distance of 140 miles on up and down escalators at Westfield Shopping Centre, Burwood, New South Wales, Australia for 145 hr 57 min from May 25-31, 1998.

The fastest time to scan and bag 12 shopping items is 2 minutes 13 seconds and was achieved by Okan Bayindir (Turkey) at the GWR Live! Roadshow at Forum Istanbul, in Istanbul, Turkey, on February 7, 2010.
