The most pumpkins carved in one hour is 42 by Stephen Clarke (USA) for the Halloween celebrations of The Early Show (CBS, USA) on 31 October 2002 in New York, USA.

Largest jack o'lantern
The world's largest jack o’lantern was carved by Scott Cully (USA) from the world’s largest pumpkin on 31 October 2005 in Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania, USA. The pumpkin was grown by Larry Checkon (USA) and weighed 666.32 kg (1,469 lb) at the Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Growers Association Weigh-off, on 1 October 2005.

Most lit jack-o'-lanterns displayed
The record for the most lit Jack-o'-lanterns on display is 30,128 in an event organised by Camp Sunshine at the Life is good Pumpkin Festival in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, on 21 October 2006.

Longest walk-through - Horror House
Visitors to the Erebus Haunted Attraction in Pontiac, Michigan, USA, typically walk 667 m (2,189 ft) on a trip through its four haunted levels. The house of horrors opened in 2005.

Most portrayed character in horror films
In horror films the character most often portrayed is Count Dracula, created by the Irish writer Bram Stoker (1847-1912). Representations of the Count or his immediate descendants outnumber those of his closest rival, Frankenstein's creation, by 162 to 117.

Largest gathering of zombies
