The largest bottle mosaic was a portrait of Jack Daniel consisting of 2,120 glass bottles and was achieved by Herb Williams (USA) in celebration of Jack Daniel’s 161st birthday at South Street Seaport in New York, New York, USA, on 1 September 2011.
Jack Daniel's, the oldest registered distillery in the United States and maker of the world-famous Old No.7 Tennessee Whiskey, was looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate the 161st birthday of its founder Jack Daniel. They wanted to engage fans of the brand, generate buzz and create a hook for the media.
Guinness World Records, along with Old No.7 and its agency, created the one-day outdoor experience at the South Street Seaport in NYC, USA where consumers were invited to take part attempting 7 different world records from Most contributions to a greeting card to Largest bottle of whiskey.
