The Brief

The Jacobs Foundation were celebrating 25 years as a world-leading charity dedicated to providing young people with development opportunities, skills for life and promoting social change in the field of youth development. One of the Charity’s key partners is leading global chocolate brand, Barry Callebaut who owns Carma® - a specialty brand for artisans, chefs and pastry chefs. The charity wanted to emphasise its 25-year solid history and bring to life the mission at its very core. So instead of Birthday cake, they decided to attempt to create the longest praline with assistance from Barry Callebut's chocolatiers!

The Solution

In keeping with their values, the praline was produced by Zurich’s Chocolate Academy™ Centre Team (owned by Barry Callebut and dedicated to training artisan chefs and chocolatiers) emphasising the charity’s mission to promote training and development, and showcasing this first-hand through the Academy’s trainees. Following the attempt, the record-breaking praline was distributed to approx. 3,000 guests including children, teenagers and parents in attendance.

“We achieved our goal by demonstrating the many ways in which the Jacobs Foundation helps children and young people. Seeing the delight on the faces of the children was the most wonderful birthday present the foundation could have received.”
