The Brief

HP’s key objective was to celebrate the OJ Pro X printer’s Guinness World Records title for the Fastest time to print 500 sheets by a colour desktop printer.

Building on the success of their achievement earlier in the year, they wanted a unique and engaging way to showcase their printer at the Business Show Expo 2013 at the Excel Centre in London.

The Solution

A Live! event gave HP the chance to attract visitors to the stand to boost sales, offering the opportunity to leave the show as record holders. HP required the new record titles to tie in with their existing record as well as the main messages they were promoting in their campaign. These included the concepts "twice the speed" and "half the cost", as well as greener messages about energy efficiency.

The Guinness World Records creative team developed the following record titles:

  • Twice the speed; Fastest time to arrange the alphabet on a composing stick.
  • Half the cost; Most bank notes counted in one minute.
  • Energy efficiency; Most electrical energy generated by pedalling a bicycle in one minute.

Over the two-day event; approx. 25,000 business owners, entrepreneurs and start-ups visited the stand and four Guinness World Records titles were achieved.
