Longest Pita Bread
On the 4th of November 2008, a young and motivated team from Jana Bakers LLC in Doha, Qatar, made the longest pita bread. Pita bread or Arabic bread, as it's known in the Middle East, is traditional and is widely used in many Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines.
The record attempt took place in Jana Baker's factory in the industrial area of Doha city. Jana Bakers staff and people from the neighboring area who attended the record attempt were very impressed by the determination of the record breakers.
The team proposed to make pita bread which measures 100m (328 ft) in length. But at the attempt day they have exceeded their expectations and managed to make bread which measured 128.5m (421.5 ft). The process of making the bread included many different stages and the key to their success depended on the experience and organization of the team. Every one demonstrated a good spirit and an excellent team work.
The certificate was presented to Abdul Rahman Al Baidhaei, Chairman of Jana Bakers LLC, at their factory launching party which was held in Al Wajba ballroom in Doha's Intercontinental Hotel. Major Arabic and Qatari TV and newspapers were at the event.
