Guinness World Records adjudicator, Lucia Sinigagliesi, was invited on 6 October 2008 to Oslo, the world’s most expensive city, to personally verify the record for the tallest curtains.

The record breaking flag polyester curtains were displayed on the external façade of the Northern Europe’s highest hotel by Ronny Frimann and his team, who had worked for many hours and in any weather condition to accomplish this.

The 1,422 m² (15,306 ft 2 in²) curtains, manufactured by KID Interior, an innovative Norwegian Interior design company, were sewn together by 25 people in the space of two weeks, and made ready for show in Oslo square on the day of KID Interior’s 70th anniversary.

More than 400 KID interior employees, arrived for the anniversary from different parts of the country and felt happy, proud and pleasantly surprised when a Guinness World Records adjudicator awarded to all company present an official certificate for a new record for the tallest curtains which measured an impressive 73 meters (239 ft 6 in) long!
