Largest art competition

largest art competition

3 July 2008- Berlin, Germany. An attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest art competition will be taking place within Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Children from all around Germany have been invited to enter the competition by creating a drawing which depicts traffic scenes and situations; these will then be displayed on the 75,000 seats in the stadium. It will take 160 assistants to prepare and it is expected that all drawings will add up to a length of 37 km (22.99 miles) once they are joined up together.

The competition was initiated by the German minister of transport, Wolfgang Tiefensee, who every year commissions a children’s primer for traffic which stars the popular storybook character, Käpt’n Blaubär. Mr. Tiefensee will present on the day to take part in the event and celebrations. Amongst these, raffles, a party for all the children who were involved and a very special visit from Käpt’n Blaubär himself.

A Guinness World Records adjudicator will be on-site on the day to certify the event and present a certificate, should a new record be set. It will be an inspiring day for all the little artists and aspiring record breakers of the future.
