Guinness World Records

Most Squats in One Hour

Dr Thienna Ho

On 16 December 2007, author Dr Thienna Ho will attempt to break the world record for most squats in one hour at the San Francisco State University Basketball Gymnasium, California, USA - in front of an official GWR adjudicator!

The current record to beat is 4,656 squats by Attila Horvath on 30 January 2002. Exhausting it may sound, but this should be achievable by the 40-year-old Dr Thienna, whose personal best is already 5,389 - with over 10,000 squats done per week!

Not only does she want to gain the world record, but Dr Thienna’s hope is that through sharing the event, she will raise awareness about how healthy doing squats is! “Squats can really keep people looking young and healthy,” she explains. “It’s the king of all exercises.”

Generally, people hate the idea of squatting because it can be so repetitious. However, if done correctly, squats work every muscle in the body. They also strengthen the heart and maintain flexibility.

Several sponsors have joined together to support Dr Thienna in her personal achievement and they include: CaliToday.com; GG Connections; KTR; NetworkPCB.com; Legaldigitalvideo.com; Piercey Toyota; Redgraphic.com; Saratogadentalspa.com; Call Centers International; and Thienna, Inc.
