Largest tankard of beer

On the 11th of March Marco Frigatti, Head of Records adjudicated the record for the Largest Beer Tankard in Poznan, Poland for the opening of a new section of the cultural and shopping centre Stary Browar, a 19th century brewery which has been given a steel and glass makeover. The final 5.40 m high bronze artwork stands proudly at the entrance of the centre and can actually be used for drinking... For its inauguration the tankard was equipped with beer taps and filled with 8,000 litres of Lech which was served to many happy shoppers. It was a grand event that attracted all national TV and press.

The largest beer tankard is made of bronze and is 5.4 m (17 ft 8 in) tall, has a circumference of 8.40 m (27 ft 6 in) and can hold more than 7,000 litres (1,539.78 gal). It was manufactured to celebrate the opening of a new section of the commercial and cultural centre Stary Browar, in Poznan, Poland, on 11 March 2007.
