I’VE GOT THE BOOK. WHERE CAN I FIND THE AUGMENTED REALITY APP?

WHEN I INSTALL THE APP, THE SYSTEM SAYS THAT I NEED MORE SPACE. WHAT CAN I DO?

The app needs at least 300MB of space on your device. If you are being told that you need more space, you will need to free up room by removing unwanted apps or data.

I’VE INSTALLED THE APP, BUT I CANNOT SEE ANY 3D. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

In order to use this app, you need to have a copy of the Guinness World Records 2014 book because the book acts as a trigger for the 3D animations.

I’VE GOT A CUSTOM iOS OR ANDROID VERSION (JAILBREAK OR CUSTOM ANDROID). THE APP IS CRASHING. WHY?

This app only functions on an original version of either the iOS or Android operating systems on supported devices. If you have another system, the application will not work and may cause crashes on your device.

THE APP CRASHES ON START-UP. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

A common cause for this is that your device memory becomes too full to allow the app to load. This may be due to the age of the device, a customised or “jailbroken” system or too many processes running in the background and using up memory. To give the app the best chance of running on your device, close any open apps that are not in use.

THE APP CRASHES AFTER A LONG LOADING PROCESS. HOW CAN I FIX IT?

On Android devices, the app downloads an additional 300MB of data the first time it is run. This may affect the memory usage of your device. Ensure that the app has crashed and isn’t just reacting slowly. On older devices with less memory, the app may work more slowly than on new devices. You can improve the performance of this app by closing any background processes such as any apps that are not in use.

I UPDATED MY DEVICE TO THE LATEST SYSTEM VERSION AND THE APP STOPPED WORKING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We always try to make sure that our apps will work with the latest system version as soon as they become available. If this isn’t the case, delete the application from your device and re-download it from either the App store or Google Play store.

I HAVE THE APP INSTALLED ON MY DEVICE. HOW DOES IT WORK?

Firstly, make sure that you have a copy of the Guinness World Records 2014 book, without which the application cannot work. Locate the pages featuring the “See it 3D” logo and press the play button on the app to be taken to the camera view on your device. Point your device at the page and the animation will come to life on the screen. If you move the book away, it will disappear. Press the camera button to take a snapshot of the image. You will then be taken to the “share” page, so that you can e-mail the image, share it via Twitter or Facebook, or save it to your device’s gallery. To go back at any point, press the back button.

I CAN SEE THE CAMERA VIEW, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. WHAT’S WRONG?

Firstly, make sure that you have a copy of the Guinness World Records 2014 book, without which the application cannot function. Ensure that you are using the app on the correct pages – only those featuring the “See it 3D” logo will trigger animations.
